Heavy Duty Scara Robot Robots That Speak...a PLC's Language

SCARA Robots

AFAST offers a complete line of industrial SCARA robots. A SCARA, Selectively Compliant Articulated Robot Arm, is a four axis robot with movement in the X, Y, Z, and theta Z space. These systems function with a serial joint geometry, which means the weight is compounded with each joint. SCARA style robots are medium speed compact systems, with a high repeatable position that make them an ideal fit in most industries where automation improves quality of the product and production speeds are higher than can be achieved with manual labor. They have rotary drive mechanisms that have less wear parts, therefore less maintenance costs, and are optimized to handle “plane-to-plane” applications, with up to four axes of motion. SCARA robots are most commonly used as pick and place systems for packaging, but are also used in assembly and material handling (sorting, collating, etc...).
