OEMs
There are many applications SCARA robots can be used for, but for the most part they are used for Assembly, Material Handling, and Packaging. SCARA robots are 4-axis arms that are capable of moving plane to plane, or in other words, x-y-z axis and rotation. These robots can lift up to a max of 20kg of product.
By far the biggest industry for AFAST’s robots has been the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industry due to the high quality and stainless steel construction. However, Electronics, Semi-Conductors, Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, and Automotive industries are all target markets for AFAST robots. The robots are constructed of Stainless Steel for use in industrial production and are also available in Clean Room Stainless Steel for highly sensitive areas.
For OEMs who are looking for a simplified process of integrating robotics into their machinery and the use of one common language (RSLogix™5000 software) for standard commands, signals and warnings throughout the system, AFAST Robotics has the solution. AFAST offers the solution with “plug & play” robots. These robots are sold with one cable that includes four encoder cables, and four power cables at optional lengths. These cables are then connected directly to Allen Bradley Kinetix® 2000 or Kinetix® 6000 servo drives. This allows you to program the robot directly from the PLC. Since AFAST robots utilize AB motors and drives, you can also connect additional motion axes to the same Sercos network, which provides the most efficient SCARA robot integration with a ControlLogix® controller.
